JOB SUMMARY:

The Commercial IT Project Manager is a highly organized, goal-oriented project manager who leads and supervises standard and agile projects through completion.  The Commercial IT Project Manager has the capability and authority to manage standard and agile projects on a day-to-day basis, ensuring both types of projects produce the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.  While managing the projects, this resource will ensure work processes and procedures adhere to the CVI SDLC guidelines.

Including:

  • Management of team’s capacity
  • Facilitation of effort estimates and actuals
  • Creation and management of standard project schedules within Planview and MS Project.
  • Creation/management/tracking of agile projects within Jira (scum master).
  • Creation/management/tracking of a risks and issues register in support of planned projects and initiatives.
  • Management/tracking project and BAU change requests.
  • Act as a liaison between project staff, IT and Business management, business partners, and project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives including the creation of the supporting documentation and work procedures.
  • Overall management of the business and IT portfolio of projects and initiatives, including approved capital projects, monthly operational releases, business as usual enhancement requests, environment maintenance initiatives, and core product updates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide leadership for project team(s) by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources, while also leading project, routine standup, and IT team meetings.  Responsibilities include the management of team’s capacity, facilitation of effort estimates and actuals, creation, and management of standard project schedules within Planview, creation/management/tracking of agile projects within Jira (working as the administrator of the scrum board in JIRA), management/tracking of a risks and issues register, management/tracking project change requests.
  • Scope of Project Management responsibilities also include managing a portfolio of business and IT centric projects, monthly operational releases, business as usual enhancement requests, environment maintenance initiatives, and core product updates.
  • Facilitates governance meetings with resources at all levels: first line project resources, mid and senior level management, and business executives.
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation through hyper-care for one major and or minor initiatives simultaneously.
  • Manage all aspects of multiple related projects ensuring the overall programs and projects are aligned to, and directly support the achievement of the tactical or strategic objectives.
  • Assist in eliminating internal and external blockers through process or strategic improvements.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Contributes to, and enforces, agreed upon methodologies, best practices, ways of working (between IT and Business Teams), the proper use of standard templates, organizational policies, standard tools and procedures, all while striving to mature these practices and capabilities for the organization.
  • Coordinates resources and manages commitments across the various team and projects.
  • Sets and continually manages project and program expectations, while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure assigned tasks, deliverables, and the supporting commitments, are agreed upon and aligned across teams and projects.
