OnsiteImagine yourself as a key contributor in our innovative Engineering Lab, taking on the role of a Staff Engineering Services and Support Technician. Here, you will support TCAS/Transponder projects, working under moderate supervision while engaging in moderately complex technical tasks that are essential to the planning and execution of groundbreaking engineering projects. You'll collaborate closely with engineers, discussing the finer details and implications of test procedures and results. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and training technical and business support employees, guiding their work assignments and contributing to their professional development. This position offers a dynamic environment where your technical expertise and leadership skills drive the success of advanced aviation projects.
What You Will Do:
- Works under moderate supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks.
- Performs moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects.
- Diagnoses test setups and equipment to resolve malfunctions.
- Confers with engineers on details and implications of test procedures and results.
- Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
- Plans and executes experiments and gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes to support engineering disciplines.
- Analyzes, maintains, compiles and formats data and design changes.
- Produces drawings, reports and engineering documentation.
- Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification or electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
- Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Experience troubleshooting RF circuits such as synthesizers, RF receivers, transmitters to the component level.
- Experience performing RF measurements such as gain/noise figure, s-parameters, phase noise, etc.
- Experience building RF cables.
- Experience troubleshooting mixed signal circuit cards.
- Experience troubleshooting and setting up test stations.
- Knowledge in the operations of basic machine tools required to fabricate test fixtures.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of thermal chambers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
- Working knowledge in interpreting and/or creating engineering drawings.
- Experience using soldering equipment with through-hole and SMT components and repairing circuit cards.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of various test equipment such as: DMM, LCR Meter, Frequency Counter, Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator, Oscilloscope, Digital & Vector Signal Generator, Pulse Generator, Audio Analyzer, Modulation Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Signal Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Noise Figure Analyzer, Phase Noise Measurement System, Phase Gain Analyzer, Impedance Analyzer, RF Power Sensors, Logic Analyzer, LVDS & Ethernet Switching Devices, J-Tag Emulators, DataTrac Devices
Qualification We Prefer:
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar programs to capture mechanical drawings and develop 2-sided PWBs.
- Experience with HF radio communication.
- Experience in an engineering environment, especially aerospace.
- Experience using and developing LabView programs.
- Experience with DO-160 minimum operating performance specifications.
