About the role

NOTE:  This position requires a hybrid work schedule of two (2) days in the office and three (3) days remote each week. As such, only candidates currently residing within commuting distance of Alexandria, Virginia will be considered.

 

Position Overview:

Questel is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and results-driven individual to join our team as a Business Development Team Manager.  Reporting to the Sales Director, this role is responsible for leading the Business Development Team to drive growth, generate qualified leads, and support Sales and Marketing Teams in delivering company-wide growth initiatives. 

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Team Leadership and Management:

 

  • Lead, coach and mentor the Business Development Representative (BDR) team to enhance performance, engagement and professional growth
  • Set individual and team goals, monitor progress and provide regular feedback to ensure targets are consistently met
  • Organize and lead regular team meetings, sharing best practices, market insights, and actionable strategies
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training of new team members
  • Collaborate with senior management to refine BDR strategies and optimize processes

Business Development & Sales Support:

 

  • Build and cultivate professional relationships with C-level executives by initiating and maintaining communication to identify and generate new business opportunities.
  • Drive the sales pipeline by generating qualified meetings through outbound calling and email campaigns, focusing on all product and service lines related to Intellectual Property (IP).
  • Develop targeted strategies for key accounts and industry segments to enhance market penetration and prospect interest.
  • Coach the team to meet or exceed monthly appointment quotas and provide tactical support where needed.

Collaboration with Other Teams:

 

  • Work closely with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns, including social media outreach, webinars, and events, to generate awareness and interest.
  • Partner with the sales team to ensure seamless handoff of qualified leads, maintain pipeline accuracy, and align activities with evolving priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager to launch initiatives that drive prospect engagement and participation.

Reporting & Analytics:

 

  • Develop and manage reporting dashboards to track performance metrics such as ROI, lead stage conversion, pipeline generation, and revenue contributions.
  • Analyze campaign results and provide insights to the team and management to refine strategies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting via CRM tools and regular updates to management.

Special Projects:

 

  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and support special projects as assigned by management to enhance business development strategies and operational efficiency
