WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:

This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position will require you to come into the HQ office as needed based on business demands. Tandem will provide equipment for you to work remotely when not in office.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Director, Learning & Talent Management will lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement, recognition, learning, and talent management. This strategic role drives people & performance efforts to foster a high-performance culture, support organizational change, and develop future leaders. The Director will collaborate with senior leadership, HR, and key stakeholders to implement impactful programs that elevate employee experience, strengthen company culture, and align talent strategies with business goals.

The Director, Learning & Talent Management at Tandem also:

  • Leads a team of trainers and specialists responsible for delivering companywide learning, talent development and engagement.
  • Consults with senior management and function leaders regarding talent management and engagement needs.
  • Oversees vendor relationships to produce quality outcomes and ROI.
  • Leads the Performance Management program philosophy, process, and supporting resources for goal setting, quarterly check-ins, ongoing feedback, and year-end reviews.
  • Conducts annual talent review and succession planning process to assess talent development needs, gaps, strengths, and talent risk within the organization.
  • Identifies key leadership and critical positions, and develop targeted succession plans to ensure seamless transitions and long-term organizational stability.
  • Utilizes data-driven insights to assess talent readiness, identify skill gaps, and develop strategies to close those gaps, ensuring a strong and prepared workforce.
  • Leads the transition of performance management systems and processes to Workday, ensuring smooth implementation and effective adoption across the organization.
  • Oversees the design, development, delivery, and management of high-impact Professional Development, Management Development, Career Development, and Leadership Development programs and offerings.
  • Creates and offers a variety of development solutions, including instructor-led courses, e-learning modules, assessments, coaching, and mentorship, incorporating a blended approach to delivery
  • Facilitates innovative and dynamic training sessions to individuals and groups of varying seniority
  • Leads the Employee Engagement strategy and efforts, including administration of all lifecycle surveys (onboarding, exit, pulse, and annual employee experience)
  • Manages the administration of HR compliance training initiatives.
  • Supports the short-term planning for the department including headcount, budgeting, training, and systems requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • 12 years experience in Human Resources.
  • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a leader of talent development, learning and management.
  • 5 years managing training and development teams preferred.
  • Experience working in a matrix and/or virtual organization across multiple geographies strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence senior stakeholders and collaborate closely with them to understand role design, performance, and skill implications.
