Plant Manager III - Amarillo, TX

Job Details:

This position has comprehensive responsibility for all functional areas of a Beef and Pork processing plant to include:

• Efficient operations of three production shifts, maintenance, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality and process improvement

• Responsible for food safety, food quality and legality

• Administering contracts with service providers

• Developing and motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance the skill level of their Team Members

• Resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods

• Reviewing and managing cost and performance data to help determine areas in need of improvement

• Compiling a weekly efficiency report and obtaining approval and executing all capital improvements for the facility

• Initiating discussion and implementation of improvement in all phases of production, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and correcting problems and performing other duties as the need arises.

Requirements:

Education: Broad knowledge in a general or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or the equivalent professional experience preferred.

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience with 5 years superintendent level or above preferred. Previous successful experience at a similar level of responsibility or demonstrated preparation for a similar level of responsibility. Background in Fresh Meats operation a plus. Sense of urgency and ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.

Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills; knowledge and exposure to Tyson’s computer systems.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), interpersonal and influencing skills. Must be able to speak with team members, department managers, and senior management. Strong presentation skills.

Supervisory: Responsible for managing several groups of personnel who perform diverse tasks and activities in several departments.  Strong leadership skills must be able to motivate employees and live out the 5Cs (Candor, Caring, Collaboration, Commitment, Creativity).

Travel: 4 to10 trips per year.
