The Senior Business Developer reports to the Chief Growth Officer andis responsible for identifying, qualifying, positioning, and winning business opportunities in the Federal Civilian and DoD/Intel market (see agencies of interest below). They will use industry pursuit methodologies to develop and implement effective capture strategies and call plans to progress business opportunities.
As a Senior Business Developer, you will collaborate with leadership to achieve business objectives and develop a strategic mindset that can influence organizational growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop business development strategies that align with one or more target agencies. Lead the pursuit of opportunities, working with multidisciplinary teams throughout the opportunity lifecycle.
- Leverage customer experience and existing relationships with agencies and industry partners. Create brand awareness in the agencies.
- Identify and qualify potential NEW pursuits by analyzing market opportunities, requirements, and capabilities and developing/executing a BD plan.
- Win Task Orders on key existing vehicles. Identify current and multi-year opportunities to expand the business pipeline. Develop, manage, and close a qualified pipeline of opportunities to support the company’s growth objectives and strategic goals.
- Work closely with the Chief Growth Officer, capture manager(s), and Chief Delivery Officer to develop and execute account and sales plans.
- Present strategic deals and pipelines to executive leadership team.
- Target Agencies: Perform business development activities at one or more of the following agencies of interest: HHS HQ, CMS, FDA, NIH, CDC, DHS HQ, ICE, CBP, FEMA, TSA, NOAA / NESDIS, NOAA / NWS, NASA Goddard, NASA HQ
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong proven experience across one or more of the Federal agencies of interest with established relationships.
- Exhibits a deep understanding of government contracting and target agencies.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage multi-agency, multi-year pipelines.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Experience cultivating and managing pipelines, forecasting, and closing deals.
- Ability to shape and deliver on a strategy to cultivate new customer relationships in strategic Federal agencies.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in related field.
- Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education.
- Extensive experience with government contracting and pipeline development and a proven track record of winning opportunities with target agencies.
- Strong, proven business development experience at one or more of the following agencies: HHS HQ, CMS, FDA, NIH, CDC, DHS HQ, ICE, CBP, FEMA, TSA, NOAA / NESDIS, NOAA / NWS, NASA Goddard, NASA HQ
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to navigate in an office setting unassisted.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Strong speaking skills, including the ability to articulate thoughts clearly and excellent word enunciation skills, are required.
Citizenship Status and Clearances:
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status. This position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.
- Preferred: Public Trust Clearance
