Description

Community Health Alliance is looking for a Pharmacy Clerk- Cashier.  Join our talented team of Pharmacy that focus on serving the community and helping those in need by creating healthy outcomes for patients of every income. 

We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more. 

Job Summary: The Pharmacy Clerk/Cashier (PCC) performs all front desk activities of the Clinic Pharmacy. These activities include patient/family receipt, processing, and completion of all prescriptions prescribed by CHA providers. The PCC will follow all Pharmacy and State of Nevada laws pertaining to pharmaceuticals, including patient confidentiality.

  • 100% company paid employee medical insurance and 90% paid vision and dental on the 60th day from date of hire.

  • Paid Time Off:

    • PTO 15 days/year and increased after one years of service: pro-rated based on FTE status

    • 8 paid holidays per year

  • CHA paid pension plan at 5% of earnings after one year of service; no employee match

  • Additional 403(b)retirement annuity plan for employee to save; no employer match

  • CHA provides a $10,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment policy for each benefit-eligible employee at no cost to the employee.  This is an employee benefit paid and sponsored by CHA.   

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of essential functions in a busy pharmacy
  2. Knowledge of general prescription practices and procedures
  3. Knowledge of all health care services offered at each clinic site
  4. Knowledge of automated billing systems
  5. Skill in communicating effectively to peers, supervisors and patients and to handle stressful situations appropriately
  6. Skill in operating personal computer utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and other office equipment
  7. Skill in accuracy and attention to detail
  8. Ability to calculate figures and amounts for posting
  9. Ability to prioritize work
  10. Ability to read and write legibly
  11. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information, most importantly patient insurance, financial and medical information according to Federal and State laws (HIPPA)
  12. Ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and enhance teamwork in the clinics and in the overall CHA organization
  13. Ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively and sensitively to special population groups as defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, etc.
  14. Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse over telephone
  15. Ability to see well enough to use computer efficiently and read computer reports and correspondence
  16. Willingness to learn, understand and abide by CHA’s policies and procedures

Education and Experience:  High school diploma or GED equivalent and preferably previous pharmacy clerk experience.
