As a GE Appliances’ Senior Application Engineer – Commercial AC, you will provide technical expertise and support on GE Appliances’ Zoneline and Air Conditioning products, partnering with sales teams, architects, engineers, contractors, builders, and owners to address product and application questions. This role also captures customer needs and feedback to inform and influence product development.Position

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sales Support
- Partner with architects, specifying engineers, contractors, and builders to ensure proper application of Zoneline products, including design considerations, installation methods, and accessory requirements.
- Develop and maintain technical resources such as the Architects and Engineering Manual, and review marketing materials for technical accuracy.
- Provide technical support to distributors, customers, and sales teams on product sizing, installation, troubleshooting, and application questions.
- Perform heat loss/heat gain analyses from building plans and seasonal performance factor analyses to support sales and customer decisions.
- Deliver product training to customers and sales teams, support national trade shows, and respond to product inquiries via email, internet, and phone.
Product Support
- Advise on building codes and product application requirements, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning.
- Monitor competitive product designs and applications, providing insights to Product and Marketing teams.
- Capture customer feedback and influence product or accessory enhancements to meet evolving needs.
Technology Collaboration
- Partner with Technology teams to ensure new products meet customer expectations and specifications.
- Provide field feedback to Design Engineers on existing and new products, and assist in evaluating product accessories such as thermostats.
- Review use and care manuals to confirm clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
Quality Support
- Assist Product Quality Engineers with field investigations and root cause analysis of product performance issues.
- Conduct field visits to identify root causes of technical problems, and support communication of findings to sales teams.
- Actively engage in promoting product safety and quality, ensuring customer and business needs are met.

- Influencing Skills: Influences architects, engineers, contractors, and distributors by clearly communicating technical guidance and product application recommendations.
- Practical Knowledge: Applies broad knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods, and building codes while staying current with competitive products and industry standards. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of both technical system design and customer-facing communication.
Educational and Experiential Background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in HVAC application engineering, technical sales support, or related roles.
