Advanced Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer at CM Truck Beds is responsible for improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure product quality. This role will develop, implement, and optimize processes and systems for fabrication, assembly, and finishing of truck beds, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, Lean principles, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Improvement:
  Analyze and enhance current manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
• Project Management:
  Lead and support capital and process improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and layout changes.
• Documentation & Standardization:
  Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, PFMEAs, control plans, and time studies.
• Tooling & Equipment:
  Specify and validate tooling, fixtures, and equipment; coordinate installation and troubleshooting.
• Cost Reduction:
  Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through material usage, labor efficiency, and process redesign.
• Collaboration:
  Work cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and design teams to ensure manufacturability and alignment on goals.
• Support Production:
  Provide day-to-day support to the shop floor to resolve process-related issues and minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication preferred).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools.
• Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and climbing for extended periods.
• Able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Comfortable working around fabrication equipment and in varying environmental conditions.
