What Quality Compliance contributes to Cardinal Health

Quality develops and implements quality policies, procedures, and processes to ensure products and services comply with regulatory standards and specifications.

Quality Compliance is responsible for the development and deployment of policies, procedures and programs designed to minimize risk, enable compliant business operations, products and services and drive uncompromised supply chain integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Review all prospective customers to ensure they have proper federal and state licenses.  Reviews include understanding all state requirements which include whether a state-controlled substance license is required or if the type of facility is exempt.  Also, we ensure all customer address and name information match all licenses and USPS.com or we work with the Sales and Customer Onboarding teams to have them work with the customer to have it corrected.
  • Communicate, both verbally and written, with internal customers including Sales, Customer Onboarding, and Customer Master teams to educate and provide guidance on licensing guidelines as they differ from state to state.  Entire team monitors a GMB which on average receives 60-75 emails per day with specific licensing related questions
  • Proactively work a monthly report of all customer license expiring to update in SAP and work a daily DEA report to update/close DEA’s depending on information received from the DOJ.
  • Complete special projects as needed which may include helping the auditors catch up on auditing, working with Legal & Compliance on state guideline updates, and working with 3rd party vendor license company to ensure license data we’re receiving is valid and able to be loaded onto customer accounts in SAP (MDG & ECC)
  • Work closely with other team members to establish best practices and meet service levels
  • Understanding and applying all DEA and State requirements required for licensing assessment based on facility type.  Ensuring accuracy of all customer information loaded into SAP and all ancillary Cardinal Health systems. Work directly with the business to facilitate corrections.
  • Work Legal and Compliance Department as state licensing guidelines change. Ensuring we have updated guidelines and communicating new regulations to our internal stakeholders to establish best practices to meet our service level agreement.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs.  Our team will be affected by consistent and ongoing changes to State regulations and as a result will need to have adaptability. Some of the changes include collecting and analyzing dispense utilization reports, reviewing a facility’s top five dispensed controlled substances compared to DEA ARCOS data, cash payments vs. non-cash payment ratios, and reviewing out-of-state vs. in-state patient ratios.
  • Resolving critical customer-related issues legitimate patient medical needs are not affected by service disruption due to expired or incorrect licenses.  This often requires schedule flexibility and working past 5 p.m. EST to accommodate customers in other time zones.


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience, preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Hours may vary depending on location of applicant

  • Moderate to High experience in Excel for processing/creating daily reports
  • Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy

Anticipated salary range: $55,400 - $79,200
