Job Description

The Sr. Director, Software & Data Engineering will shape the direction of the Privia Data Foundry, and AI. This leader will be responsible for executing a multi-year technology roadmap leveraging cloud modernization, analytics, automation and AI/GenAI.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • End to end delivery of multi-domain Privia Data Foundry, Reporting, Dashboards and Analytics with a cloud native architecture and lead AI initiatives 

  • Establish engineering excellence metrics, agile delivery models and DevOps practices 

  • Maintain accountability for data pipelines, reliability, scalability, security, uptime and performance of each of the services 

  • Define and own the technology strategy for Privia Data Foundry, by ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and milestones 

  • Build a multi-year roadmap leveraging cloud modernization, automation, analytics and GenAI capabilities

  • Partner closely with RCM and VBC operations, pre & post sales, enterprise architecture and other engineering leadership teams to prioritize the investments

  • Lead, mentor and grow a high performing, global, diverse engineering and product delivery organization

  • Build a culture focused on employee experience, empowerment, and continuous improvement 

  • Drive talent development through upskilling, modern engineering practices and cross-functional collaboration 

  • Mentor engineering teams in the use of AI, especially for development, testing, solution documentation and dependency analysis 

  • Partner with Enterprise AI team to leverage Gitlab Duo and AI Studio for rapid solution development 

  • Serve as a trusted engineering partner to internal/external stakeholders 

  • Represent technology in client conversations to strengthen trust, transparency and delivery confidence 

  • Design solutions informed by healthcare data flows, RCM, clinical workflows, provider and payer contracts, and regulatory expectations 

  • Familiarity with value based care and fee for service delivery models 

  • Ability to build big data warehouse using Snowflake and other technologies 

  • Apply interoperability standards (HL7, X12 FHIR) to ensure systems communicate reliably and securely 

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology delivery, Engineering leadership and cloud modernization/transformation 

  • Proven experience of leading large-scale transformation programs in global and matrixed organizations

  • Deep experience in healthcare technology delivery especially in Claims and Payer contracting areas 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in computer science, engineering or related technical field preferred

  • Demonstrated experience in data engineering, building large data warehouse, digital transformation, public cloud and technology transformation

  • Experience leading large scale modernization initiatives, interoperability transformations, platform rationalization efforts 

  • Solid grounding of healthcare specific data exchange standards

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud platforms like GCP and AWS (Data, Integration, App Services and DevOps) 

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies

  • Hands on experience implementing AI/ML or GenAI solutions, to improve operational outcomes 

  • Proven record of exceptional communication, stakeholder influencing and cross-functional leadership skills

  • 2+ years of experience designing agentic workflows and autonomous systems 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and transform teams, drive change and build a culture of innovation 

  • 1+ years of experience with AI/ML concepts, including responsible AI principles, multi-agent solutions like Vertex AI, generative AI and MCP
