Position Summary

Join the dynamic team at the Cal Coast Student Financial Center (CCSFC) as a key player in enhancing our communications and training initiatives! Under the guidance of the CCSFC Director, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to provide exceptional financial services to students.

In this collaborative position, you will act as the primary liaison between the CCSFC and essential partners, including the Financial Aid Office, Scholarship Office, and Bursar. You’ll help manage the day-to-day operations of the CCSFC, which employs 25-30 enthusiastic student assistants each academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication & Collaboration: Work closely with on-campus partners—such as student organizations, faculty, and staff—to ensure that important deadlines and processes are effectively communicated across the university.
  • Content Creation: Update and craft engaging content for the CCSFC, Financial Aid Office, and Scholarship Office, while also managing our social media presence to keep our community informed and engaged.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Assist in developing innovative marketing campaigns for specific projects, ensuring our initiatives reach the right audience.
  • Training Development: Identify training needs, help schedule and facilitate training sessions, and contribute to special projects as assigned by the CCSFC Director.

Position Information

  • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
  • This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
  • The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Department Summary

The Cal Coast Student Financial Center’s (CCSFC) focus is to provide centralized, individual financial case management and counseling to students, parents and families. The CCSFC maximizes the efficiency and effectiveness of the Financial Aid Office, the Scholarship Office and Bursar’s Office by providing a scalable, “one stop” shop approach to providing assistance with issues related to financial aid, scholarships and student billing regardless of where the students and parents physically are.

The staffing model is a blend of permanent represented staff, graduate students, and undergraduate peer counselors led by a Director (MPPI) and three full time CCSFC staff, with direct reporting lines to Student Affairs & Campus Diversity Assistant Vice President.  The center will provide customer service by serving as a single point of contact to analyze and resolve questions about financial aid, scholarships, financial transactions, academic progress and transactional-based issues.
