Detailed Description:The Assistant Director of Graduate,International, and Certificate Programs is responsible for the following: coordinate recruitment and marketing efforts for the Graduate,International, and Certificate Programs Office; manage new student enrollment and scholarships; ; oversee the development and regular update of LL.M., M.S. in Legal Studies, Study Abroad and other international initiative websites and marketing materials; and develop retention strategies to promote and assure a positive student experience. The Assistant Director reports to the Assistant Dean and works in a collaborative relationship with the Associate Director, other student services offices, and the faculty. Position requires a valid CA driver’s license and US passport; some overnight and international travel is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate admissions, recruitment and marketing efforts for the Graduate and International Programs Office:
Oversee all office contacts with more than 1,000 prospective students and visitors to the five graduate (LL.M.) programs, the M.S. in Legal Studies, summer and semester study abroad programs, and the U.S. Law and Policy Program or similar programming. Work with the Assistant Dean and Associate Director to develop and execute a marketing and outreach strategy for these programs to prospective markets (e.g., attorneys, law schools, law firms, graduate schools, the legal market, etc.) nationally and internationally. Manage the office's distribution of information to prospective applicants regarding admission and financial aid. Maintain regular contact with prospective applicants to encourage their application to the School of Law, and with admitted applicants to encourage their matriculation to the School of Law. Review transcripts and admissions documents for U.S. and international applicants in conjunction with the Associate Director for admission to the program. Provide periodic status reports to the Assistant Dean of all inquiries and efforts to enroll admitted students. Represent the law school at recruitment events and opportunities; this entails some local, regional, national, and occasionally international travel. Work with Director and the Office of Alumni Affairs to create an outreach program to alumni focused on the area of recruitment and referral to USD. Perform other duties and tasks related to marketing and recruitment as needed.
