Sr. Clinical Advisor

Job Summary:

The overall goal of the Senior Clinical Advisor is to provide excellent support and customer service to all students, resulting in the successful completion of their education and an enduring personal connection to the University. In addition to assisting students in identifying appropriate clinical site placements and preceptors, the Senior Clinical Advisor is responsible for providing guidance and leadership to the clinical advising team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides one-on-one support to facilitate appropriate clinical site and preceptor identification and placement for students. 

• Ensures students have appropriate information and tools to assist them in successfully obtaining a clinical site. 

• Assists students with strategies to maintain and build relationships with their preceptor prior to their clinical practicum. 

• Maintains comprehensive knowledge and understanding of state requirements for clinical placement and assures students meet requirements for placement.

• Maintains comprehensive knowledge and understanding of university catalog policy for clinical placement and assures students follow policy.

• Maintains knowledge base of university systems, in particular the clinical app, to assist students in the submission of clinical plans.

• Completes accurate and timely documentation related to clinical placements and student interactions. Assists with the gathering of data for reports and process improvement. 

• Ability to effectively present clinical site identification information to large groups of students at in-person orientation

• Participates as a team member of the Clinical Outreach and Placement team, contributing to a positive culture, team goal achievement, and partner in process improvement for the success of all students. 

• Collaborates with Clinical Directors, faculty and staff to ensure the quality of clinical site placements. 

• Collaborates closely with the Academic Advising and Credentialing Units to ensure students have efficient and timely clinical placement. 

• Adhere to the elements of the Culture of Caring

• Provide service to the University through activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance (e.g. committees, workgroups), FNU sponsored activities (e.g. charity drives, community outreach activities), and/or service to the profession (e.g. presentations, professional organization committee work). 

• Responsible for the creation and maintenance of department Frontier Bound presentations

• Responsible for maintaining Frontier Bound staffing schedules

• Responsible for the creation and deployment of student resources

• Serves as the first point of contact for Clinical Advisors needing support with elevated student issues and complaint resolution

• Responsible for training and onboarding new clinical advisors as needed

• Responsible for quarterly/assessment reporting of Clinical Advising workload to the Director of Clinical Outreach and Placement Services 

• Other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Abilities

• 3+ years experience as an FNU Clinical Advisor. 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

• Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, etc.) 

• Ability to work as an effective and positive team member 

• Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment (positively embrace change) 

• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
