None/Not RequiredElectric Systems Power Generation Engineering is looking for a mechanical engineer to work with a multi-disciplined, technical team in the design, development, production and field support of aircraft engine mounted generators, auxiliary generators, and aircraft mounted motors. The preferred candidate must have a track record of innovative mechanical design capability, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and project management.
What You Will Do
Select concepts, design, analyze, and test new products and components
Generate engineering documentation such as hardware specification development, test plans, analytical reports, test reports and reliability assessments
Read and interpret engineering drawings, provide markups, and coordinate drawing releases
Support new business proposals, formal design reviews, and customer presentations
Adhere to and develop engineering standard work, including design tool improvement (for example Excel based tools)
Interface with management, suppliers, customers, and members of the technical design team
Satisfy external and internal customer needs as related to both design and business objectives
Provide timely and effective communication to management and customers
Lead engineering investigations to establish root cause, and implement corrective actions
Qualifications You Must Have
Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience in design, test, and manufacturing of mechanical components and systems
Background with structural and thermal analysis, and 3D design software
Experience with Excel (i.e., VBA, Solver, etc.)
Experience preparing and executing to a program plan
Experience with rotating hardware technologies with pumps, gears, transmissions, and generators
Experience with CORE, ACE, and/or Design for Six Sigma, particularly DOE
Experience working in a team environment and communicating effectively with technical authority through all levels of the organization
Background with engineering drawings
