As a Clinical Technician on the Cancer Center Infusion team, you will support your fellow caregivers and medical staff by providing patients with top-quality care while they undergo treatments. Under the supervision of an RN, you will utilize your technical and applicable skills to enhance the patient experience and create a welcoming, healing environment. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 4:30PM or 7:30AM – 4:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, application of external monitoring devices, and inserting urinary Foley Catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
Complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period
Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student with at least one completed clinical rotation as part of an accredited Nursing School Program
