Job Summary:

The Senior Business Operations Manager is a high-impact, technically-oriented operator embedded within the Global Solutions Engineering (GSE) Business Operations team. This individual is a force multiplier for senior engineering leaders — enabling them to execute with precision, plan with clarity, and walk into every executive room fully prepared.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, analysis, and execution. The ideal candidate is technically credible enough to engage meaningfully with engineering teams, analytically sharp enough to turn complex data into compelling executive narratives, and operationally rigorous enough to own the planning and review rhythms that keep a large engineering organization moving. You tell stories through data. You use AI as a genuine productivity multiplier. You operate one step ahead of what leadership needs — and you surface problems with a recommendation already in hand.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex projects of diverse scope to optimize operational processes.
  • Participate in complex problem resolution and determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
  • Drive global process improvements within the organization.
  • Provide oversight and support for planning and management of financial, budget, and headcount targets.
  • Act as a liaison between business leadership, staff, and other key partners.
  • Influence the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of business processes.
  • Utilize internal and external data to provide actionable insights for business growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:

  • Existing familiarity with PayPal's engineering organization and established cross-functional relationships across product and engineering teams are a significant advantage and strongly preferred

  • Familiarity with payments, fintech, or platform/infrastructure products — or equivalent experience in a technically complex product domain

  • Experience with single-threaded ownership models, ring-fenced capacity frameworks, or similar strategic resourcing operating models

  • Background in engineering, computer science, product management, or technical program management

  • Experience with agile/SAFe planning, OKR-driven organizations, a
