This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change. 

Your Responsibilities

 

As an Operations Accounting Analyst for John Deere Turf Care located in Fuquay Varina, NC you will: 

 

• Examine factory overhead spending, analyze actual versus forecast, create budget reports, KPIs & counsel budget owners and factory leadership.
• Responsible for overheads, distribution, and SA&G accounts during monthly financial closing, vetting actuals, explaining variances, and updating budgets. 
• Through insightful analysis, drive cost reduction initiatives. 
• Lead annual overhead study and structure line. 
• Work on ad hoc special projects and cost reduction initiatives.
• Support internal control testing and a strong internal control environment.

What Skills You Need

 

• Understanding of key financial concepts such as budgets, forecasts, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or equivalent, having a good understanding of the principles and ability to independently use the knowledge..
• Spreadsheet proficiency with strong experience with Microsoft Office tools, Excel.
• Capable of working directly with factory manager and his staff, independent and self-driven.
• Good communicator, capable of translating numbers into something simple that non-finance stakeholders can relate to and act upon.
• Detail oriented, analytical, data driven, adaptable.
• Intellectual curiosity and a positive attitude, excited about learning new things and tackling new challenges.
• Collaborative across units & functions.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

• Experience with SAP FICO.
• Passion for excel modeling, data analytics and visualization tools.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes and product costing.
• Demonstrated experiences of influencing without authority.
• Financial certifications: CPA, CMA, CGMA.

Education

 

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
