Summary
Professional, administrative and supervisory work assisting the Chief Operations Manager with the day-to-day operations of the Employee Relations Division and assuming responsibilities in their absence. Also, performing duties that assist the Chief Operations Manager in carrying out the directives of the Assistant Chief Administrative Officer on a variety of municipal administrative programs and projects.Examples of duties
(Promotional)1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. *
2. Permanent status with the City of New Orleans in a class of work having a pay grade equal to or higher than Management Development Specialist II (pay grade 77).
3. Three (3) years of responsible professional administrative experience which must have included at least one (1) year of assisting a Chief Operations Manager or a supervisor having a pay grade equal to or higher than 90.

1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. *
2. Three (3) years of responsible professional administrative experience in a centralized human resources division. This experience must have been at an exempt (salaried) level and must have included experience in an Employee Relations Division/Department. Applicant must have experience with or knowledge of grievances and EEOC investigations, compliance, policy development and special event coordination. At least one (1) year of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Note: Professional experience is considered experience gained in a position that required a Bachelor's Degree upon entrance. The Civil Service Department reserves the right to determine whether experience qualifies as responsible experience.

Qualifications
A rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however, credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for related experience gained within the last ten (10) years.This is an original entrance examination and promotional examination.

DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT: Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. However, all new full-time employees hired into this classification on or after January 1, 2013, must be domiciled in Orleans Parish within 180 days of hire. Public safety employees such as commissioned law enforcement officers hired by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), firefighters hired by the New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD), emergency medical technicians hired by the New Orleans Emergency Medical Services (NOEMS) and the recruits for these positions hired by these departments are excluded from this provision. Airport employees are excluded from this provision if the actual domicile of the employee is nearer to the employee’s job site than the distance from the job site to the nearest point of Orleans Parish.

DOMICILE REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT (SEWERAGE AND WATER BOARD):
Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application**. Residency requirements are waived for all Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans positions vacant and advertised for at least 90 days. Employees hired under this waiver remain exempt from the city's residency requirement for the duration of their employment at the Sewerage and Water Board.
