BOSTON COMMUNITY HUB SCHOOLS - HubThe YMCA of Greater Boston (YGB) is a fully invested Anchor Institution with the Boston Community Hub Schools Strategy. The Y serves as the Lead Agent/Lead Partner in this collaborative structure that collectively works across the Boston Public Schools, the Boston Teachers Union, the City of Boston, UMass Boston, City Year and the United Way. 

The Senior Director of Academic Integration and Partner Development develops, oversees and leads the alignment and coordination of all BPS priorities within Boston Community Hub Schools (Hub).  The Director will work both internally and externally with all collaborators and partners to connect to district/school-based classroom instruction for all school partners. The Leader will work with the Senior Director of Hub and the Hub Leadership Team to develop and refine measurable outcomes to ensure that strategies are well coordinated and aligned with the goals and deliverables of the Hub Strategy.

The Senior Director of Academic Integration and Partner Development represents the Y with key community collaborators and partners in the Y’s service and core business areas.  This role will build equitable, consistent, high quality and transformational strategies to advance and scale programs and services within the Boston Public Schools and Hub School Strategy.   This position coordinates the partnership with all BPS departments and works across the association.  The Senior Director Leader reports to the Senior Leader for Boston Community Hub Schools and works collaboratively with both the Social Responsibility and Youth Development teams at YGB. 

As the Primary Lead Agency, the YMCA is:

• In a formal three year contract with the Boston Public Schools
• Responsible for the supervision of seven Hub School Coordinators
• A resource developer and fiscal agent
• A community school advocate
• Making data-informed decisions in collaboration with the Data and Project Manager for Social Responsibility

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Director of Academic Integration and Partner Development will continue to build the capacity of the strategy to include:

• Strengthen communication channels between YMCA and BPS partners to ensure seamless collaboration.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive onboarding strategy for new lead agents in partnership with the United Way.
• Maximize the impact of existing partnerships, programs, and resources while cultivating new opportunities to support the Hub.
• Advocate for the Hub strategy among city-wide leaders, state officials, and legislators.
• Align partnership initiatives with BPS academic priorities to enhance student outcomes.
• Provide access to national best practices, training, and technical assistance.

Grant funding from Lubin Family Foundation Key Goals/Deliverables 

• Internal YMCA Youth Development Alignment with the Hub Strategy
• Strategically integrate external partner programming to accelerate Hub Strategy’s academic and community impact
• Initiate the development of a partnership council framework

Quality School Plan Alignment
Support for school-based YMCA programs at Hub Schools, ensuring alignment with district and school priorities:

• Academic Enrichment – Equitable literacy, STEAM, and Nutrition & Wellness initiatives
• Attendance Support – Strategies to address and reduce chronic absenteeism
• Whole Child Development – Physical, social, emotional, and learning-focused activities
• School Integration – In-classroom support and collaboration with educators
• Family & Community Engagement – Strengthening partnerships with parents and the community
  
  

Goal 1:  – YMCA of Greater Boston Out of School Time (OST) Alignment – Internal CapacityIndicators of Success:

• AlignYMCA Afterschool programs based in Hub schools to support the school’s Quality School Plan
• Update and enhance YMCA Afterschool literacy goals, ensuring materials are relevant to students.
• Establish a strong connection between YMCA Afterschool Site Directors and Hub Coordinators through:
  • Regularly scheduled meetings
  • Sharing best practices and building relationships to support student success<
