Senior Project Manager

Audubon is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to work directly in our Houston, TX office. The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of complex and/or large projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. This position reports to the Director of Projects or Business Line Vice President/Manager. The successful Senior Project Manager will provide direction and management support to project teams during the execution of engineering projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Areas of Responsibility will include:
- Acting as the primary interface between the project team and the client representative. The PM is the face of Audubon to the client.
- Creating, executing and revising project execution plans as required to meet client requirements and project metrics.
- Identifying resources needed and managing team responsibilities.
- Managing day-to-day operational aspects of assigned projects.
- Ensuring that all deliverables have been reviewed, approved and signed off prior to issue to the client.
- Ensuring the project team follows the Audubon standards and procedures.
- Reviewing project transactions and reporting any discrepancies on a weekly basis.
- Reviewing and approval of invoices within a 48hr turnaround.
- Maintaining the resource planning on assigned projects.
- Managing the project budget and schedule.
- Remaining completely accessible to client during the life of project and providing single point of contact, ensuring specific requests are process timely and appropriately.
- Organizing and directing a Project Management Team of other Project Managers and/or Project Engineers.
- Driving Management of Change philosophy and enforcing corresponding procedures.
- Serving as the champion for safety and quality on the project.
- Reviewing and providing final Audubon approval to all subcontractors’ contracts and invoices.
- Managing the overall execution of projects.
- Participating as a contributing member of assigned Functional Group or Execution Center.
- Possessing a detailed understanding of the sales / BD process.
- Understanding the relationship between multi-discipline deliverable packages - including procurement and construction activities.
- Consistently acknowledging and appreciating each team member's contributions.
- Effectively utilizing each team member to their fullest potential.
- Motivating team to work together in the most efficient manner.
- Keeping track of lessons learned and sharing those lessons with team members and peers.
- Mitigating team conflict and communication problems.
- Suggesting areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
- Leading and/or acting as a member of internal teams/task forces.
- Analyzing project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, efficiency, and utilization.
- Additional duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree AND 10+ years of Relative Experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of Relative Experience.
- Education/Licensure Preferred: BS Engineering, MBA, Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- 7+ years of industry related experience as a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
- Experience Preferred: 10+ years of experience as the Lead Engineer on large multi-discipline projects, Project Engineer and/or Project Manager.
- Working knowledge of scheduling techniques and software.
- Knowledgeable in cost estimating and control.
- Able to speak comfortably in a group setting.
- Understanding of all applicable discipline deliverable
