Senior Business Analyst

Implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by gathering the requirements of a project or program and communicating them clearly to all parties involved. These projects will typically require a high degree of cross-company coordination and regular collaboration with Operations and Technical Managers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide overall project leadership and direct project teams in the on-time delivery of high-quality products.
• Develop relationships with partners across the organization, working with them to ensure alignment.
• Communicate project status to all stakeholders, ensuring common understanding and agreement of project deliverables and status.
• Coordinate and facilitate requirement and design meetings with the stakeholders.
• Understand, analyze, and document detailed functional requirements.
• Ability to capture requirements with efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail on a consistent basis.
• Manage the product backlog and perform product backlog refinement.
• Facilitate Sprint Management, including Planning, Reviews and Demos.
• Coordinate with teams and vendors to ensure the right teams are working on the right components at the right time, with clear expectations of milestones and goals.
• Serve as the escalation point for all issues related to projects.
• Ensure that all stakeholders are integrated, as necessary, into project planning and decision making.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Keep project teams focused by continually removing roadblocks that impede the team’s success.
• Coach and support the team to self-organize in a productive way.
• Mitigate team conflict and communication problems, working with appropriate department managers, as needed.
• Ensure team alignment with Minitab’s guiding principles.
• Maintain alignment of projects with company objectives within an environment of independent decision making.
• Assist with budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the project.
• Manage requirements and scope throughout the life of the project(s), keeping in mind the other ongoing goals of Minitab.
• Recognize the need for and benefit of project metrics and use them when appropriate.

 

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of ten (10) years of business analysis or related experience.
• Proven ability to manage projects and user testing for projects that drive continuous improvement across cross functional departments like finance, sales, marketing, customer success etc.
• Demonstrated success of managing and delivering projects, working effectively with resource, program, and technical leads.
• Demonstrated ability to become proficient with new applications and understand emerging technologies.
• Experience with documenting business system requirements in the form of user stories and system acceptance criteria.
