Job Summary:

Part time research assistant on an AI Education research project from the Computer Science department at Barnard. The research assistant will contribute to user research about K-12 educator perspectives on the role of AI in future student learning experiences.

Job Description:

- Conduct a literature review on AI education in K-12, specifically research on the learning applications of large language models and multimodal learning experiences

- Assist in workshop design and facilitation for K-12 teachers to try out AI design tools

- Qualitative analysis of workshop data, including audio transcripts, videos of teacher projects, and log analysis of user prompts

- Academic writing of case studies and workshop results in preparation for conference paper submission

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

- BA in Education, Cognitive Science, Psychology, or related fields

- Experience designing and facilitating teacher-facing workshops

- Experience using AI tools like ChatGPT

- Qualitative research experience (including thematic analysis and case studies)

Hourly Rate: $25/hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
