The Equipment Supervisor for the Weights and Research Department plays a pivotal role in the overall success of all W&R Programs. With a wide range of responsibilities from detailed to high level oversight, this role helps ensure all equipment resources are properly in place, are effectively managed and maintained, and being used in a manner to maximize output.

This position will be part of the Dimensioning Team but will work in cooperation with the Reweigh and Inspection Programs. The
individual in this role will report to the Business Process Manager.

 

Essential Job Duties:

• Work closely with Dimensioning Process and Reweigh Analysts to ensure equipment is properly placed and being utilized.
• Oversee Equipment Inventory Reports to guarantee compliance, alert key personnel of needs and provide administrative
  support to maintain the tracking accuracy of these Reports.
• Provide support to the Management team to ensure equipment is in place, parts are properly stocked, secure Pos when
  needed and coordinate deliveries and replenishments.
• Work with outside vendors to ensure they are in place for key projects.
• Maintain service records and update attendant tracking tools.
• Act as a central point of contact between Breakdown and W&R Departments.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance tasks which includes but not limited to forklift equipment swaps, reconfigurations,
  and coordinate with outside vendors and management when significant repairs are needed.

 

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on a wide range of machinery and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to lead, coach and motivate others.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with others.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and preferably the entire MS Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and high standards of quality.
• Must be able to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Travel as needed (up to 25% travel time.)

 

Preferred:

• Previous experience working with dimensioning and/or weighing equipment.
• Previous experience within the LTL industry in either W&R, Fleet Maintenance or Operations Management.
• Bachelor's degree in Transportation or related area.
• Experience with On-Base, As400 and other related applications.
• Process Improvement or Project Management Certifications (LSS, BPM, CAPM, PMP)
