Job Description:

Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) reports to the CEO and is responsible for directing the company’s financial and administrative organization, including the treasury, borrowing, compliance with the obligations in financing contracts, reporting, and financial analysis, as well as facilities and administrative functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the accounting function of the company, review financial information, and define accounting policies in US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Supervise the adjustments to IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Supervise the relationship with the external auditing firm. Support the shareholders in accounting matters regarding the company.

  • Monitor financial contracts in order to assure compliance with the obligations that the company has to the lenders.

  • Manage the relationships with the company’s shareholders, lenders, and stakeholders.

  • Prepare reports and presentations for the CEO, the Board of Directors, the Shareholders, North Carolina DOT, and the lenders.

  • Lead the company in the preparation of a complex annual budget and two budget updates during the year and monitor expenses against this budget.

  • Supervise the cash management of the company including collection, payments, and financial investments from associated parties, enforce fraud prevention policies, and improve upon such as necessary.

  • Make use of an internal analytical accounting system to report cost information to shareholders on a monthly basis and as needed.

  • Actively implement policies to optimize the performance of the company by incrementing revenues, reducing expenses and/or reducing risks.

  • Perform financial analyses for the CEO, shareholders and other third parties using long-term financial models to perform calculations in order to support operational decisions.

  • Manage employees within the financial and accounting functions of the company.

  • Performs other job-related duties as necessary.
