Accounting Manager - Aliso Viejo, CA

Compensation:  $120,000-$140,000 per/year You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.

Accounting Manager – Aliso Viejo, CA (Hybrid Role - onsite 3x/week)

The Accounting Manager will have six plus years of experience, as well as strong communication, technology, and analytical abilities. The Accounting Manager must have well rounded knowledge with month end, GL, and working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP. We’re searching for a candidate who’s an effective leader, hardworking self-starter that’s dependable and able to interact with all functions in the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Month-end closing procedures including bank reconciliation, journal entries, accruals and reconciling balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Performs monthly review of documentation to support balances contained within the financials and collaborate with internal/external parties to ensure accuracy.
• Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the management’s attention.
• Monitor internal controls operational effectiveness while identifying efficiencies and initiate improvements.
• Assist with quarterly/annual financial statements audits, and act as liaison with audit firms to ensure timely audit completion.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Able to manage multiple tasks in parallel and prioritize effectively.
• Contribute to special projects and software implementations that advance the business.
• Capable of recognizing areas for automation and process improvements and taking action to execute enhancements.
• Perform technical accounting research and analysis for new accounting guidance and new or existing business transactions and processes; document, implement, and communicate conclusions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain quality relationships with business partners and peers to address accounting needs.
• Support inventory cost accounting during month-end and understand materials management process.
• Monitor revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance – or equivalent work experience
• Proven working experience as Accounting Manager or Finance Manager
• 6+ years relevant accounting experience
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations 
• Works well under pressure and can manage difficult reporting deadlines
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required to interact upward with the executive team and cross functionally

Preferred:

• CPA designation a plus
• Knowledge of SAP
• 1+ years in a manager level role
