The Microsoft Event Technology team designs and evolves the digital experiences that power Microsoft’s most important commercial events. Working across marketing, field, content, production, and activation partners, we create intuitive attendee journeys that make it easy for customers, partners, and employees to navigate our events, discover meaningful content, and engage with Microsoft. From Microsoft Ignite and Microsoft Build to global tours, executive programs, and internal experiences, our team brings high-impact events to life at scale.

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative, and execution-oriented Senior Event Technology Manager to deliver and continuously improve attendee-facing digital tools across in-person, hybrid, and online experiences.This role sits at the intersection of event strategy, attendee experience, digital platforms, registration operations, content delivery, data, accessibility, localization, and technical execution. The ideal candidate is a resourceful problem solver and trusted cross-functional partner who can translate business goals and stakeholder priorities into integrated digital solutions that help attendees discover content, navigate events, connect with Microsoft, and engage meaningfully before, during, and after each event.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, planning, and delivery of attendee-facing digital tools and experiences across Microsoft events, including registration, agenda and session discovery, content access, mobile app experiences, wayfinding, networking, meeting scheduling, surveys, and online engagement tools.
  • Translate business goals, audience needs, stakeholder priorities, and technical requirements into clear digital experience plans, success criteria, timelines, and delivery approaches.
  • Own the end-to-end digital workstream for assigned events, including discovery, requirements gathering, platform configuration, production readiness, quality assurance, launch support, issue resolution, and post-event closeout.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI, emerging technologies, and other innovations into event tooling and champion accessibility, localization, privacy, and continuous improvement across global digital experiences.
  • Partner with event strategy, content, programming, production, registration, marketing, data, accessibility, localization, legal, privacy, regional teams, and technology providers to deliver cohesive and compliant attendee experiences.
  • Manage platform dependencies, vendor deliverables, integrations, timelines, risks, budget considerations, decisions, and escalations within fast-moving event environments.
  • Establish and improve operating models, workflows, governance, templates, communication rhythms, and engagement practices that increase consistency, quality, and scalability across events and regions.
  • Use data, reporting, attendee feedback, and stakeholder input to identify friction points, improve usability, strengthen engagement, and inform future event technology decisions.
  • Oversee onsite technology readiness across badge printing, check-in workflows, session scanning, lead retrieval, meeting tools, and support models. This includes assurance that data streams and reporting from onsite actions are accurate, timely, privacy-aware, and usable for event teams and stakeholders.


Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in program management, business, marketing, communications or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, business, marketing, communications or related field
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience delivering digital, hybrid, online, or technology-enabled event experiences, preferably for large-scale, global, executive, customer, or high-profi
