Overview

The HR Compliance Partner will be responsible for assisting the Policy & Compliance and Employee & Labor Relations teams with information necessary to design and enforce policy and regulations.  This role researches and provides information on pending regulatory legislation and conducts regular auditing, reporting, communication and related activities to support compliance initiatives.  The primary focus will be on Company and Employee compliance for regulated issues such as I-9 completions, work permits, EEO data, required trainings, etc. This position will also maintain the department’s regulatory tracking and primary communication channels, including the coordination of  responses to employee and/or HRBP requests. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs internal audit of work authorization documentation and provides appropriate follow up to the field on Form I-9/E-Verify case status including new hire timeliness, re-verification(s) and work authorization documentation recertification to ensure compliance with federal guidelines.
  • Regularly audits new hire and ongoing mandatory training compliance requirements and follows up with appropriate HR contact(s)
  • Performs audit of EEO/AAP data for HRBP follow up and system data updates.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of HR policies and procedures; evaluates and advises on potential compliance issues related to current policies.
  • Conducts research on and tracks new and pending changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulatory changes in conjunction with the P&C and legal teams to ensure policy and procedures are compliant

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintains departmental project tracking and tracking of regulatory compliance reviewed and results for legal team reference
  • Assists in the support and maintenance of the electronic policy repository including creating, launching and monitoring signatory compliance programs; edits, adds and/or distributes policies as needed
  • Posts communications notices on inter-departmental communication channel(s) and responds to HR Policy Inbox requests, escalating as necessary
  • Performs work on other P&C projects or tasks as directed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; three or more years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Compliance, Legal or related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of US employment laws
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly with consistent attention to detail
  • Solid ability to research, gather data, compile information and prepare accurate documentation
  • Ability to independently work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining flexibility as needed
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel (data compilation and analysis), PowerPoint (stakeholder presentations), Word (Policy documentation)

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
