About the role
Overview
The Manager Infrastructure Engineering is responsible for managing the design deployment operation and auditing of the infrastructure in order to deliver a reliable secure and trusted environment. The Manager Infrastructure is responsible for providing resolution to technical problems and understanding performance of IT audits.
Responsibilities
- Manages the design, deployment, operation and auditing of the company’s infrastructure to deliver a reliable, secure environment
- Perform necessary team and project administration duties to provide status and communication for all deliverables, issues, opportunities, and questions within the required project timeframes
- Support the technical needs of departments throughout the organization so business needs are met
- Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by system outage, theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information systems and datacenters
- Facilitate the creation, revision, management and support the procedures to ensure business continuity
- Manage procedures to efficiently merge acquired companies systems with the corporate systems
- Build and maintain an information systems infrastructure for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the company’s business processes
- Serve as a point person to help ensure teams are producing procedures pertaining to infrastructure creation, maintenance, general support, risk management and business continuity planning
- Provide managerial guidance to team members to complete their assigned duties and meet or exceed expectations. Work with the leadership team to provide appropriate resources to accomplish objectives
- Serve as an escalation point for issues; provide guidace and resolve issues as necessary
- Recruit and retain employees; provide frequent performance and developmental feedback to team members
- Develop, manage, report on, and adjust budgets specific to supported teams
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 6 years professional experience, with demonstrated leadership experience
- Previous team management experience with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate direct reports to accomplish defined goals
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Ability to constructively discuss and gain consensus on critical topics
- Strong leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skills
- Excellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with others with discretion and tact
- Highly organized and experienced in multi-tasking and time management
- Passionate, competitive and intellectually curious
- Strong technical acumen with ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people
- Ability to Manage projects and employees in a fast paced environment
- Understanding of Security fundamentals
- Understanding of Networking concepts
- Understanding of Microsoft Server and Desktop Operating Systems
- A broad knowledge of highly-available enterprise-level network components
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Visio
- Experience with Microsoft server technologies
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Experience with public cloud technologies
- Experience with automation and orchestration technologies
- Solid understanding of the audit process and risk-based IT audit activities
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
- Travel may be required
