People Operations Manager

Atlantic Quantum is seeking a People Operations Manager to join our team. As our first HR hire, you will play a crucial role in streamlining our hiring processes, enhancing our onboarding experience, managing IT and security protocols, and fostering a positive work environment that promotes employee growth and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities: 

Talent Acquisition and Onboarding: 

• Lead end-to-end hiring processes, including job postings, proactive candidate outreach, and managing candidate communications 

• Develop and implement comprehensive on-boarding (and off-boarding) documentation and processes 

• Work with our immigration counsel to manage visa processes for international hires, ensuring compliance with immigration regulations 

 IT and Security Management: 

• Oversee IT management, including cybersecurity measures and access control to software tools and data 

• Implement and maintain government data security requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations 

Performance Management and Employee Development: 

• Manage the company-wide performance review process

• Support managers in developing training and professional development plans for their team members 

• Coordinate and oversee the internship program, maintaining relationships with educational institutions & other partners 

Employee Engagement and Satisfaction: 

• Conduct regular anonymous employee satisfaction surveys 

• Analyze survey results and work with leadership to implement improvements based on feedback 

HR Operations and Compliance: 

• Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and documentation 

• Assist in developing and updating HR policies and procedures 

These responsibilities cover the Cambridge, MA headquarters, the lab/office in Gothenburg, Sweden, and remote employees. 

Required Qualifications 

• At least 4 years of experience in HR, preferably in a tech startup or fast-paced environment 

• Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations 

• Experience with HRIS systems and ATS platforms 

• Familiarity with IT management practices 

• Experience with visa processes and international hiring 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information 

• This is a hybrid position, with at least 3 days per week expected onsite in our Cambridge office.
