Strategic Messaging Specialist

Key Role:

Leverage expertise in developing and implementing communications strategies, approaches, and engagement materials for senior leaders with PowerPoint presentations, talking points, remarks, and other written materials covering a variety of topics, including Sciences, Engineering, or DEIA Initiatives. Develop and drive major initiatives and missions by applying communications and design expertise to support clients in comprehending complex scientific information, and convey changes to stakeholders in a clear, concise, compelling, and visually appealing manner. Assess and provide recommendations by leveraging industry best practices and professional expertise and experience to provide strategic communication, strategy direction, and visual recommendations and materials for implementation to best support external outreach on programs, activities, and missions. Convey the voice of the client by promoting its strategic goals and informing internal and external stakeholders of activities through honed messaging. Develop communications strategies to anchor the understanding of the client’s milestones, assess existing communications strategies and products, and apply industry best practices and innovative solutions to further optimize activities. Identify strategic and tactical communications, analysis of data and feedback gathered on existing practices, and the ability to develop overarching processes and tools to address areas for communication improvement across all operational areas. Anticipate and identify opportunities for the project team to enhance client delivery and liaise directly with senior clients.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with producing client-ready communication products
• Experience with managing enterprise-level projects
• Experience with speechwriting and executive communication
• Experience with building and maintaining client relationships in a team-based government or management consulting environment
• Experience with using Microsoft Office, including creating PowerPoint products
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to manage a team and implement external and internal branding and outreach efforts, including engagement via writing news stories, feature articles, press releases, and social media
• Ability to provide guidance and direction on graphic design and web content development
• HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications

• Knowledge of Science, Engineering, or Analytics in the Government
• Experience with NASA
• Knowledge of Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Accessibility challenges
• Ability to integrate key messages
• Ability to be a self-starter
• Possession of excellent leadership, critical thinking, analytical, and data management skills
• Bachelor's degree
