Responsibilities

Peraton requires a System Engineer to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL.

 

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and  common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

 

As an Enterprise Applications Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and performance of software and hardware. Your responsibilities will include performing tier three support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. In addition to possessing in-depth technical knowledge of the Government’s software and hardware, you'll need advanced analytical, troubleshooting, and design skills. Effective communication with both technical and non-technical users is essential. Familiarity with the systems engineering process and data is a fundamental requirement for performance improvement. You'll actively participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests. Additionally, this position involves generating assessments and implementing actionable recommendations based on reviews. Extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance, is crucial. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Windows Server Administration: Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. 
  • Remote Access Technologies: Knowledge of technologies like RDP, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
  • Be willing to assist with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required 
  • Test, evaluate, and verify hardware and/or software to determine compliance with defined specifications and requirements 
  • Optimize device performance and user experience.
  • Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Python, Bash) to improve mobile device management workflows.
  • Implement security best practices, including Zero Trust and endpoint protection.
  • Work closely with security teams to ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
  • Developed and executed STIG scans and remediation plans
  • Perform regular audits and reports on device security and usage.

  • Analyze the results of software, hardware, or interoperability testing 
  • Manage device enrollments, user access controls, and provisioning.
  • Implement updates, patches, and OS upgrades.
  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods for USSOCOM's IT infrastructure
  • Create comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios for functional, regression, and deployment testing
  • Participate in working groups, design reviews, and system tests 
  • Conduct thorough analysis, diagnostics, and evaluations of products and systems
  • Collaborate with development and requirements teams to coordinate and test applications 
  • Monitor and improve testing processes through failure analysis, throughput analysis, and yield analysis
  • Generate assessments and implement solutions for network and system improvements and make recommendations based on test results (combined)
  • Translate data and test results into evaluative conclusions 
  • Familiarity with Azure services, including Entra ID, Resource Groups, Storage Accounts, and Application Gateways. 
  • Provide an understanding of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and PowerShell scripting 
  • Maintaining currency in applicable industry standards from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • Min 9 years with HS degree, 7 years with AS/AA degree, 5 years with BS/BA
  • A DoD TS/SCI clearance is required
  • 3+ years of experience in mobile device engineering, IT sup
