FLRAA Project Engineer – Systems Engineering & Verification

We have opportunities for talented engineers to join the Rolls-Royce Systems Engineering & Verification team as a deployed Project Engineer on the FLRAA AE 1107F engine program (Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft). As a Project Engineer you will be responsible to manage and deliver subsystem and component engineering projects from inception and problem understanding, through component definition, validation, and implementation. You will manage technical projects, leading cross-functional teams to deliver robust, verified engineering solutions against validated customer requirements.

Key Accountabilities:
Leverage subsystem and component requirements to define and estimate packages of work
Define and manage plans (scope, schedule, budget, resources, purchased services) for all aspects of the project (design, analysis, manufacturing development, hardware procurement, verification)
Create and maintain integrated project schedules with complex dependencies
Control cost and schedule objectives using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques
Identify and manage project/program risks while facilitating the completion of all project tasks and deliverables in accordance with all applicable processes, procedures, and regulations
Prepare and deliver presentations during internal and customer reviews
Coordinate with other internal resources as well as external suppliers to deliver project/program objectives while reporting project status to various levels of the organization and escalate issues as required to the appropriate level of management
Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of related experience – OR -
A Master's degree in Engineering – OR -
JD/PhD in Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with gas turbine engines
Component definition requirements experience
Fixed process approval experience
Experience working closely with a company purchasing organization
Experience in design and/or manufacturing engineering
Formal training in project management, requirements management, Systems Engineering, and/or structured verification methods
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Creative thinker
Ability to multi-task
