Your Mission
A Senior Character Outsource Supervisor will work on maintaining the vision set forth by the art leads and art director as it relates to outsourcing cosmetic items for World of Warcraft. Including armor sets, mounts, and weapons.
The ideal candidate is experienced in creating and giving feedback on game character art modeling, UV mapping, and texturing. You will also have a solid grasp of art fundamentals as they relate to character art creation.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA. However, we understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore other possible options, including remote work arrangements.
Responsibilities:
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
Drive outsource development by scheduling and tracking incoming/outgoing assets.
Manage communications and provide feedback to artists and help maintain a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams
Generate detailed documentation, visual reference, and examples of art asset production, procedures, and engine requirements to support the external vendors
Own the quality control over all incoming art assets, providing detailed feedback and approvals to the vendor to deliver quality assets to the development team
Create assets that fit within the World of Warcraft style
Ability to prototype and create block-out assets
Enthusiasm for working closely with other artists
Communicate with art directors, art leads, production, design, and other departments
Minimum Requirements
Experience
5 years of experience in game development creating 2D environment art
5 years of experience with 3D software packages and asset creation pipelines
3 years of experience communicating with external or remote teams
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to drive and feedback production 3d in-game art for cosmetic items such as mounts, armorsets, weapons etc.
Organized, great follow-through, self-driven, and a team player.
Clear and concise communication, leadership, and people skills.
Collaborate closely with Art Director, outsource team, and other disciplines.
Understand real-time game development needs.
Ability to explore a wide variety of ideas that push the World of Warcraft style.
Software experience such as 3ds Max (or equivalent) and Photoshop.
Extra Points
