About the role

The Per Diem Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to a specific group of patient is requiring hemodialysis during their hospital stay.
  • Applicants should have excellent Fistula and Graft access skills; and, be familiar & competent with the different types of vascular access devices used in the acute hospital setting. 
  • Provide professional nursing care to critical patients.
  • Medication administration and documentation. 
  • Utilize the nursing process in all aspects of care delivery. 
  • Ability to interpret and treat arrhythmias per ACLS protocol, intervene in cardiac arrest, pain management and management of complications of diseases.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science with a major in Nursing preferred
  • Current NYS License – RN – Dialysis experience required, Minimum 2 years of acute hemodialysis experience required preferred.
  • Certification (CNN) preferred. BLS and ACLS required (American Heart Association); Previous ICU / ER experience preferred
  • Critical thinking and excellent communication skills required.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $69.00 - $69.00 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
