TITLE: Human Resource Generalist

LOCATION: Herndon, VA

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, On-site

 

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Electronic Warfare Associates, Inc. is actively seeking a Human Resource Generalist with proven experience supporting Department of Defense Federal Contractors to join our dynamic team in Herndon, VA. As the Human Resource Generalist, you will play a vital role in various functions of the Human Resource department, including talent management, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations and reporting.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):

 

  • Maintain personnel files for Corporate and offsite locations, updating and managing HR/personnel data in CostPoint (Accounting system) and ADP Workforce Now (HRIS).
  • Prepare offer letters, termination letters, memorandums for employee transfers, salary changes, promotions, etc.
  • Prepare new hire packages for employee onboarding.
  • Process in/out all personnel to ensure correct and timely processing.
  • Generate monthly reports in ADP for employee census, performance and salary reviews, open requisitions, and create reports as requested.
  • Prepare and submit government-mandated reporting, including EEO-1, VETS-4212, AAP, SAR’s for 401k, E-Verify, ACA 1095-C’s and 1094-C’s, and CA SB 973(?).
  • Oversee Human Resources compliance with the Corp Quality Management Program (ISO9001) and review HR’s performance on key metrics quarterly.
  • Work with VP of Administration on EWA’s recruiting efforts, posting requisitions, etc.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including medical, PayFlex, LTD, STD, life insurance, 401k administration and COBRA.
  • Cultivate a habit of double-checking data accuracy, multitasking effectively, and maintaining a deep understanding of HR policies and practices.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience.
  • Possession of PHR/SPHR certification, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification, or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proficient and experienced working with ADP’s Workforce Now system.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • General knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and employee development.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and evaluate departmental human resources programs.
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and confidential personnel issues.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Good judgment and ability to make sound decisions independently and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse groups.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers and carriers.
  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer and related software, including Microsoft Office Suite and other standard office equipment.
