The Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University is seeking an Infectious Disease Physician-Scientist or Scientist to join our faculty in the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine.  This is a full-time academic position (tenure track) at the Associate/Full Professor level.

The Department of Medicine in the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of infectious diseases, including microbial pathogenesis, emerging pathogens, and immunology.  This position is part of the State University of New York Empire Innovation Program, which aims to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations to advance the prevention and treatment of disease.

Successful applicants will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program and to actively participate in the teaching and service missions of the Department of Medicine at Stony Brook University.  The position includes a competitive start-up package, excellent fringe benefits, modern office and research laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core services, instrumentation, and facilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have a PhD or MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and three or more years of postdoctoral experience.  Candidates should have a demonstrated record of research productivity, peer-reviewed publications, successful mentorship and the potential to secure extramural funding.

Preferred Qualifications:
We welcome applicants whose research focuses on translational and therapeutic approaches to infectious diseases. Preference will be given to candidates who establish robust, longitudinal human cohorts and foster collaboration with immunologists, chemists, bioengineers, and computational biologists.  

Opportunities exist to collaborate with investigators in the Cancer Center and the Center for Healthy Aging.
