ABOUT THE JOB.
The Director, Internal Communications leads Marathon Health's enterprise communication strategy, ensuring teammates are informed, engaged, and connected to the organization's mission, culture, and business priorities.
Reporting to the Vice President, People Operations, this role serves as a strategic communications advisor to executive leadership and a key member of the People Experience team. The Director drives organizational alignment, strengthens leadership communications, enables enterprise change, and enhances the teammate experience through thoughtful communication strategies, data-driven insights, and AI-enabled innovation.
Working in partnership with leaders across the organization, this role ensures the right information reaches the right audiences at the right time while advancing a transparent, connected, and high-performing culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise Communication Strategy
- Develop and execute Marathon Health's enterprise communication strategy aligned with business priorities, organizational culture, and the teammate experience.
- Partner with People Experience, Executive Leadership, Marketing and other senior business leaders to develop integrated communication strategies that align internal teammate communications with external branding messaging and business priorities.
- Serve as the enterprise communications advisor, partnering with leaders to develop communication plans for organizational changes, business initiatives, executive messaging, and enterprise announcements while educating leaders on communication best practices and change readiness.
- Lead communication strategies for enterprise initiatives, organizational transformations, crisis management, executive transitions, business disruptions, and other high-impact situations.
- Strengthen teammate engagement, leadership visibility, and organizational alignment through effective communication strategies and enterprise campaigns.
- Oversee enterprise communication channels, including Town Halls, executive communications, the intranet, newsletters, Microsoft Teams, lock screens, and other digital communication platforms.
- Create and deliver communication tools, resources, and education that enable People Leaders to effectively communicate organizational priorities, lead change, improve teammate understanding, and drive consistent application of people practices.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure communications are coordinated, timely, and aligned across the enterprise.
Teammate Experience & Engagement
- Develop communication strategies that foster engagement, transparency, inclusion, and connection to Marathon Health's mission and values.
- Establish communication standards and best practices that improve consistency and reduce communication fatigue.
- Lead the communication strategy and execution for People Experience initiatives, including monthly, quarter leadership meetings, organizational announcements, and enterprise campaigns.
- Manage the People Experience communications calendar to ensure timely, coordinated, and effective messaging across the organization.
Data, Analytics & Governance
- Develop communication dashboards and performance metrics
