The Position
Responsible for leading multiple facilities projects of varying complexities simultaneously from conception through completion/closeout. Provides guidance on complex construction engineering issues and is subject matter expert on advanced design and construction projects. Plans and organizes work to ensure efficient execution of projects in accordance with approved scope, design, budget, schedule, and compliance with internal external codes, guidelines, and directives.
Specialized and in-depth comprehensive knowledge and experience in a particular field, or business area. Duties are varied and complex often involving research, analysis and solution development. Provides direction on issues of area of expertise and assist department leadership in setting strategic direction. Typically a higher level professional position.
Requires the regular use of originality and ingenuity. Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of field. Is generally assigned more complex and difficult assignments. Assignments are broad in nature. Typically works with greater discretion and latitude. May assist Consultants and lower level staff by providing advice and guidance.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages complex facilities projects for new buildings, renovation of existing buildings and infrastructure projects. Controls scope of work, architectural and engineering design, construction, budget and schedule.
- Develops and recommends continuous improvement for processes within scope of responsibility.
- Serves as the subject matter expert and liaison between facilities and business units on complex space design requirements and facilities engineering requirements. Works with all stakeholders to develop and document the scope of work, budget and schedule on assigned projects.
- Assembles and maintains project activity documentation and schedules. Oversees work to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with scope of work, budget, schedule, safety requirements, and meets all internal and external codes, guidelines, and directives.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external vendors. Selects and manages contractors and consultants.
- Evaluates bids/proposals, executes contracts and purchase orders, and coordinates the activities of contractors and consultants working on assigned projects.
- Coordinates, procures and executes all FFE (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) required for projects.
- Manages project close out process and ensures all record documents are complete, accurate, and uploaded to internal document repository to ensure accurate up to date facility documents.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES: The minimum education, knowledge, experience, skills and attributes required to perform the essential functions of this job.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 3 years of facilities project management related experience or
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 5 years of facilities project management related experience
- At least 1 year of previous responsibility for leading or managing people formally or informally
- Strong computer skills including project scheduling software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in prioritizing multiple projects with varying scopes of responsibility
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $82,600 - $135,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
