Job Description

The HR Generalist will be a key member of the HR team and support the employees of the NBCU Boston Stations (NBC 10 Boston, NBC Sports Boston, Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra and NECN). The HR Generalist will perform various HR duties in areas such as onboarding, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations and other special projects. This role will also provide guidance on HR operational issues and help develop new programs and initiatives to meet business needs. Partner with HR Director to facilitate and deliver HR services and be a main point of contact for employee questions and support. This is a hybrid position based in our Needham, MA offices and will report into the local HR Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support full employee lifecycle including new hire onboarding, managing leaves and employee offboarding.
  • Work directly with employees to answer HR related questions and provide additional resources when necessary.
  • Partner with HR Director to implement new programs and initiatives to help enhance current employee experience & engagement.
  • Spearhead training program coordination, helping to create new training programs for departments and leaders.
  • Assist HR Director with all employee relation matters, conflict resolution, and investigations.
  • Support compliance reporting and adherence to NBCU policies, as well as staying up to date on all local/state/federal laws and regulations.
  • Backup centralized HR Coordinators with company HRIS and work with finance team to ensure all necessary personnel changes and updates are recorded properly.
  • Maintain record keeping both electronically and onsite.
  • Additional ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience managing HRIS systems.
  • Experience in program and/or project management a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working in HR Generalist role with a broad scope of responsibilities spanning across multiple HR process areas, including but not limited to, compensation, data management, employee relations, benefits, learning and development.
  • People-oriented mindset with ability to work in professional, fast-paced environment.
  • High-level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner and work with senior leaders of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple different projects at the same time.
  • General understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws and requirements.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Interested candidates must apply to be considered.
  • Must be willing to work in Needham, MA a minimum of 3 days/week.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
