Pay: $63,300-$78,100, depending on experience.
Position Overview
Directs, coordinates and is responsible for the planning, organization control, integration and completion of a construction project within a local company. Also responsible for using a combination of past experiences and project specifications to accurately project the amount of materials, equipment, and man hours that must be utilized in order to complete a given project. Utilize knowledge and bidding software to generate bids for projects.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Ÿ Travel to potential sites to evaluate existing conditions and meet with site owners and/or owner’s representatives.
Ÿ Bid on a competitive basis and submit quotes to primes.
Ÿ Develop and maintain positive relationships with owner, contractors, and engineers.
Ÿ Track and adjust quantities through all phases of each project.
Ÿ Prepare estimates, proposals, sealed bids, and sub contracts.
Ÿ Generate various reports required by immediate supervisor.
Ÿ Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads.
Ÿ Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
Ÿ Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Ÿ Represent company in project meetings; assist in strategy meetings, etc.
Ÿ Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.
Ÿ Assume additional responsibilities as directed.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Ÿ Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree or equivalent in training and experience.
Ÿ Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction; design, finance, and management preferred.
Work Requirements
Ÿ Must be 18 years in age or older.
Ÿ Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
Ÿ Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.
Ÿ Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Ÿ Must maintain current driver’s license that meets state requirements, i.e., DL/CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements. Valid DOT Medical Card a plus, preferred but not required.
Ÿ Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Ÿ Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Ÿ Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes and Safety Vest.
Ÿ Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
Ÿ Regular work attendance is a requirement for this position.
