Head of Social Capital

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Head of Social Capital who will lead the way in terms of strategy and vision for our new Social Capital Team. The Social Capital Team is part of Climb Hire’s larger Programmatic Team and is charged with developing and nurturing pathways to help Climbers build social capital. This role reports to the Chief Program & People Officer, and is an opportunity to partner closely with the Founder & CEO and leadership team. This individual will be a strategic leader, visionary, and thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities

Manage and be the face of Climb Hire’s Social Capital department to the Volunteer Advisory Board and Alumni Council. Innovate how to increase volunteers, engage alumni, and increase referrals from both of these communities.

Volunteer Initiatives Management:

• Deliver 100% of volunteer needs for 2023 (1,000 volunteers)
• Inspire and motivate potential and current volunteers to not only participate in events but engage in their relationships
• Develop and maintain relationships with employee partners and employee resource groups (ergs)
• Network with Director/VP level folks in companies that are willing to learn more about Climb Hire and be comfortable in presenting in All Hand and team meetings
• Host Volunteer events during the cohort's program (occurs virtually during the evenings)
• Recruit and manage a board of 10-15 board of volunteer advisors who make a commitment to recruiting 100 volunteers each in 2023

Alumni Affairs Management:

• Lead and develop strategy around alumni engagement to meet ambitious alumni engagement goals
• Collaborate with leaders in the org to ensure opportunities for referrals and other relationships are stemming from this work
• Recruit and manage a board of alumni advisory council

• Manage the whole Social Capital department (the Alumni Coordinator and the Manager of Social Capital)
• Work closely with researchers to track impact between those from different economic brackets
• Collaborate with the Chief Program & People Officer and the leadership team to develop next level strategic alumni programs and events including reunions
• Work on special social capital projects and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 8+ years in partnering with senior leadership and staff to develop strategy and vision around social capital work
• Ability, experience, and comfort presenting to senior leaders as well as non-traditional talent and folx from different economic brackets
• Strength in critical problem solving such that your manager is a thought partner, not a problem solver and you can plan independently and at a high level with baseline information.
• Strong and persuasive communicator
• Team Management experience
• Experience in developing strategy to accomplish a goal
• Strong vision for alumni engagement and volunteer recruitment
• Experience in working with populations from historically disenfranchised communities
• Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively inspire and engage a variety of stakeholders
• Excellent active listening skills, including advanced critical thinking and analytical skills

• $110,000–$150,000 annual compensation, commensurate with experience
