The Director of External Relations, Women's Basketball is designed to ensure the ongoing competitiveness of the Saint Joseph's Women’s Basketball Program by helping to generate resources for the program. These resources include funds to support all aspects of the program, including opportunities for student-athletes to use their personal brand to generate name, image and likeness revenue and exposure.Introduction:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as a connector between the program and the local business community, program alumni, professional basketball teams, and others – especially as it relates to generating resources and opportunities
Work closely with Athletics Development personnel to assist in all aspects of fundraising for the Women’s Basketball Program, including donations to the Hawk Athletic Club and the NIL program
Represent women’s basketball in the planning and execution of all special events, including the annual golf outing
Work with Van Wagner to Assist in obtaining sponsors and donors for special events and for the women’s basketball program in general
Develop and implement a comprehensive NIL program for women’s basketball, including educational and support structures to enhance NIL activity among student-athletes:
Identify and facilitate NIL opportunities for student-athletes, ensuring strict compliance with NCAA regulations and alignment with institutional policies, while managing a portfolio of NIL deals for individual student-athletes and teams.
Act as the primary liaison with NIL collective(s); responsible for educating internal and external stakeholders on NIL principles and competencies.
Act as the primary liaison with Brandr, Van Wagner and other departmental partners
Work closely with the Director of Athletics to implement the terms of the House v. NCAA settlement for women’s basketball
Serve as the program expert on the complete financial package for current and prospective women’s basketball student-athletes, including scholarship, cost of attendance, Alston, House payments (if applicable), and NIL
Serve as the primary point of contact for student-athletes who aspire to professional careers, including:
Create and maintain relationships with WNBA general managers, coaches, scouts and other personnel
Serve as the point of contact for agents, including assisting student-athletes with vetting and connecting with agents
The incumbent is responsible for conducting all activities in compliance with NCAA, Atlantic 10, Saint Joseph’s University rules and regulations, and federal and state law.
Assist coaches, staff and student-athletes in the women’s basketball program with additional duties as assigned, with a mindset of “whatever it takes” to contribute to the success of the program on and off the court
Minimum Qualifications:
Required
Bachelor's degree
Significant understanding of the college basketball world
Experience at some level in basketball - as a player, coach, support staff member, manager or other
Business acumen and understanding of marketing
