MSREI is seeking an experienced and highly motivated fundraising focused professional to join its team in New York as a Real Estate Investments Fundraising Specialist to facilitate marketing investment funds to Private Wealth Financial Advisors and individual investor clients. 

You will be a part of the Business Development team and work closely with the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management channel as well as external private wealth distribution channels. In this role you would collaborate with the global teams and senior management of MSREI, and the broader generalist intermediary sales teams within MSIM.

What you’ll do in the role

  • Work as senior capital raiser within the Real Estate Business Development team, including supporting all aspects of investor relations with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and external private wealth distribution channels, including business development, and fundraising activities.
  • Participate in the fundraising cycle, roadshow presentations, marketing, LP diligence, sales and the closing of investor capital commitments.
  • Develop a strong understanding of MSIM's Real Assets platform, and MSREI's suite of funds and investment strategies with a particular focus on North Haven Net REIT.
  • Partner with the Internal Generalist Sales teams across MSIM to drive sales.
  • Work closely with prospective and current clients in Private Wealth Management channels to understand their needs and deliver tailored content to support fundraising efforts and enhance client relationships.
  • Cultivate deep and expansive relationships with Wealth Management financial advisors through high-quality interactions including proactive outreach, in-person meetings, calls, emails and follow-ups.
  • Maintain a high-level of client service by answering inbound inquiries and working with the operations team to resolve specific investor queries.
  • Utilize the CRM system to log client interactions and any prospect related activity on a daily basis.
  • Liaise with internal real estate team, legal and compliance, and sales and marketing.

What you’ll bring to the role

The ideal candidate has at least 12 years of experience in capital raising, client relationship management and/or business development.  You have a strong understanding of alternative investments, private real estate products, and can operate both independently and in a team environment.  Extensive travel will be required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion for capital markets, real estate, and alternative investments.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with intermediary distribution channels and Private Wealth financial advisors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization and represent the Firm in a professional manner.
  • Highly organized with good commercial judgment, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a self-directed environment while simultaneously managing competing priorities.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Professional maturity and the ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Self-motivated and a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Responsive to stakeholder needs, ability to work under pressure, and with flexibility, to meet tight deadlines and demonstrated ability to anticipate requests / needs.
  • Series 7 and 63 equivalent licenses are required.
  • CFA or CFP are a plus, although not required.
