QA Engineer for the Application group

Solopreneurs, startups, and Fortune 500 companies all use Apify to extract data from billions of web pages and automate millions of manual tasks every month.</p><p>To support this mission, we're looking for a QA Engineer to join Apify’s Acquisition team. You'll build and maintain automated end-to-end tests - currently in Cypress, migrating to Playwright/TypeScript - primarily for our web applications. You'll work with developers and product managers to catch bugs before users do.</p><h2><strong>What you’ll be working on:</strong></h2><p>Our QA Engineers work directly with developers and product managers on full-stack teams. You'll test throughout development, not just as a final gate - catching issues early when they're easier to fix.</p><p>You'll write and maintain end-to-end and component tests. We're migrating from Cypress to Playwright in TypeScript - you'll help rewrite tests and establish best practices. After the migration, you'll grow the test suite and test new features, mostly through automation with manual testing when needed.</p><p><strong>You’ll work with your team to:</strong></p><ul><li><p>Collaborate on feature development from the start - testability is a priority.</p></li><li><p>Write and maintain automated tests that cover critical user journeys and edge cases.</p></li><li><p>Advocate for quality across the stack, helping catch issues early and improving the developer experience.</p></li><li><p>Give fast feedback during two-week sprints so we can deploy multiple times per day without sacrificing reliability.</p></li></ul><p>At Apify, QA is not an afterthought - it’s woven into our engineering culture.</p><h3><strong>Our tech stack:</strong></h3><ul><li><p>Frontend: React.js, styled-components, Storybook, Cypress, Playwright</p></li><li><p>Backend: TypeScript/Node.js, Next.js, Express.js, Docusaurus, Jest</p></li><li><p>Infra: AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB, S3, GitHub Actions</p></li><li><p>Monitoring: New Relic, LogDNA, Sentry, PagerDuty</p></li><li><p>Tools: GitHub, ZenHub, Notion, Google Workspace</p></li><li><p>Process: two-week sprints, code reviews, tests, automating whatever we can, and deploying multiple times per day.</p></li></ul><h2><strong>They say there are no perfect candidates, but you might be the one if you have:</strong></h2><ul><li><p>A strong ****technical background or a great professional track record.
