Join our multinational team of intelligent, motivated, and collaborative people, and help us make financial protection accessible to all.</p><p></p><p><b>A Brief Overview</b><br/> </p><p>The Senior Financial Accountant in the Legal Entities Financial & Regulatory Reporting team, EMEA, supports the teams responsible for the financial, regulatory, statistical and sustainability reporting of the legal (insurance & service) entities. The Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for co-ordinating, preparing, contributing to, and as relevant, the completion of the required reports for several legal entities and other duties as assigned.<br/><br/><br/><b>What you will do</b></p><ul><li>Support the co-ordination and completion of all reporting deliverables for the legal entities across EMEA ensuring timely and accurate reporting and respond to assigned requests on related inquiries.</li><li>Build good working relationships across finance and with other departments as relevant to understand purpose, goals and objective of the respective legal entities to ensure effective and efficient reporting.</li><li>Work with other areas, internal and external to the company, to achieve efficient, effective and consistent accounting and regulatory reporting practices and procedures.</li><li>Analyze and review each trial balance (or management accounts) for the assigned entities, prepare quarterly summary of results, including explanations of variance from expectation.</li><li>Prepare financial statements, support audits of assigned entities and prepare reports to entity management or governing bodies as/when required.</li><li>Co-ordinate Solvency II regulatory reports as required and roll-forward, prepare and update assigned regulatory reports.</li><li>Contribute to business plans at a legal entity level, provide appropriate analyses and insights.</li><li>Support key accounting processes for the region such as payroll, general expenses and taxes.</li><li>Contribute to internal control framework as relevant.</li><li>Support strategic initiatives such as process streamlining and efficiency.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p><br/><b>Qualifications and Experience</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Accounting/Finance required</li><li>10+ years auditing experience (or combined accounting and auditing experience), with GAAP reporting and general ledger application experience required</li><li>PeopleSoft or other accounting software applications experience preferred</li><li>5+ years Insurance / reinsurance financial and regulatory reporting required</li></ul><p><b>Skillset</b></p><ul><li>Intermediate Word, strong Excel, and basic SQL/Query skills required</li><li>Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance and general ledger applications (e.g. PeopleSoft) required</li><li>Advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility</li><li>Advanced oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge required</li><li>Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines required</li><li>Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions required</li><li>Complex investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills required</li><li>Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions required</li><li>Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables required</li><li>Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects required</li><li>Advanced level of skills in customer relationship management and change management</li><li>Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives required</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects or teams and set applicable goals required</li><li>General business knowledge required</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>What you can expect from RGA:</b></p><ul><li><p>Gain valuable knowledge from and experience with diverse, caring colleagues around the world.</p></li><li><p>Enjoy a respectful, welcoming environment that fosters individuality and encourages pioneering thought.</p></li><li><p>Join the bright and creative minds of RGA, and experience vast, endless career potential.</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p>
