About the role
Summary
Working out of TAEC’s San Jose Storage Design Center, the selected applicant will work as a member of an R&D team, on Hard Disk Drive related projects. The work environment is project and team based and involves developing leading edge storage technologies and products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, implement, debug, and evaluate various aspects of HDD related projects.
- Develop new algorithms and architectures as needed, including in the areas of performance and advanced data format technologies.
- Take on large and complex assignments.
- Mentor/support junior engineers as required.
- Collaborative with members inside and outside of a core project team.
- Produce quality embedded firmware, participate in peer design reviews and provide supporting design/evaluation documentation.
- Communicate effectively and work closely with other remote development teams.
- 12+ years of years of directly applicable experience.
- Very strong fundamentals in relevant HDD technologies.
- Proficient in C/C++.
- Experience in embedded programming.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, team environment.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, M.S or PhD preferred.
Salary Range: $132,400 - $178,800
