POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our rapidly growing team. This role will be a department of 1 supported by our responsive management team. We are looking for a self-starter who embraces change, process improvement, and a commitment to following through on all tasks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:

• Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
• Develop and maintain employee policies and procedures.
• Submit all federal and state-mandated reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the business strategy.
• Support current and future business needs through developing, engaging, motivating, and preserving human capital.
• Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
• Manage DEFTEC's Benefits Administration, including upkeep of enrollment and managing annual Open Enrollment
• Organize and maintain the SharePoint site for employee files.
• Nurture a positive working environment.
• Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
• Support recruiting operations, including reviewing job requisitions and recruiting as needed for vacancies.
• Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Human Resources supporting a defense services contractor.
• 2+ years of experience as an HR Manager or similar role
• In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
• Demonstrable experience with HR metrics
• Knowledge of HR systems and databases
• Demonstrable Benefits Administration experience
• Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
• Experience establishing HR policies and procedures
• Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all company levels.
• Experience with Service Contract Act (ACT)
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of ApplicantPro
• Experience working with Paycom.
• Human Resources experience for a company in multiple states, including California.
• Master's degree
