PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Hiring range for this position is: $70,721.44-$88,401.80/Annually

Signing Bonus: New employees are eligible for a $5,000 bonus;
The signing bonus will be paid in installments as follows:
$1,000 on the first paycheck
$1,000 after 3 months from the hire date
$1,000 after 6 months from the hire date
$1,000 after 9 months from the hire date
$1,000 after 12 months from the hire date
This bonus structure provides an incentive for successful candidates to join our team and rewards their commitment over time.
OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
The Traffic Engineering Division of the Public Works Department plans, designs, constructs, and manages capital improvement projects; reviews and approves civil engineering plans; manages consulting contracts; manages grant funded contracts; develops and implements signal timing plans; plans and implements ITS projects; reviews and approves traffic control plans; and fulfills traffic engineering requests (i.e. evaluate the need for traffic signs and signals, review signal timing, coordinate construction detours, etc.).
The Traffic Engineering Division is seeking a Project Manager who will be responsible for checking work zone traffic control in the field and on plan sheets, evaluating traffic requests, and managing construction projects. This position will be supervised by the Traffic Engineering Technician Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Salary to be commensurate with experience.
Conducts investigations of traffic conditions.
Reviews, corrects, and recommends solutions for work zone traffic control plans.
Reviews temporary traffic control work zones in the field and coordinates with contractors and city inspectors to make changes as needed.
Makes recommendations for installation or modification of traffic control devices.
Prepares work orders for installation or modification of traffic control devices.
Responds to public concerns related to traffic issues.
Works with consulting engineers, contractors, and other agencies to explain, interpret, and create City's design requirements, codes, and specifications.
Manages construction projects.
Assists in creating work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
Performs other related duties as assigned
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree related to area of assignment
Experience:
3 years of experience in engineering or a related field
