Accounting Intern

Origin Bank is excited to announce we’re hiring for our G.I.V.E Summer Internship Program! (Giving Interns Valuable Experience)

We are currently seeking Junior and Senior college level students to work as an Intern for an 8-week summer internship.

Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the banking industry through daily business interactions while learning the importance of building relationships and enhancing a strong work ethic. You will also develop a wide-range of general business skills and etiquette, through real-world experiences, applications and processes.

Our Accounting Department is looking for an Accounting Intern. The ideal Intern will work closely with the Accounting team and perform the following duties: 

• Assist accounting staff with routine month-end processes as needed, including the preparation of journal entries, supporting schedules and/or account reconciliations.

• Assist the SOX Manager with the monitoring and testing of internal controls.

• Perform research for budgeting and financial forecasting.

• Conduct research and financial analysis related to investment securities.

• Create spreadsheet models and presentations as needed.

Intern Qualifications/Skills:

Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power point)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Effective interpersonal skills

Proficient in time management, multitasking and prioritizing projects

General understanding of the banking industry

Able to work independently or with a team

Must have at minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
